Zomato Sets Guinness World Record, CEO Deepinder Goyal Posts On X

Zomato recently conducted training for their delivery partners in Mumbai to equip them with the skills to offer medical assistance during critical roadside emergencies. On June 12, the company trained a total of 4,300 delivery partners at a single site, setting a new Guinness World Record for the “largest first aid lesson at a single venue.” Deepinder Goyal, the founder and CEO of Zomato, took to X to announce the world record, lauding the delivery partners as “Emergency Heroes of India” and expressing gratitude towards them.

In his X post, Goyal shared, “Yesterday in Mumbai, we broke the Guinness World Record for the largest first aid lesson at a single venue, together with 4,300 delivery partners.” He highlighted that Zomato’s delivery partners are now equipped to assist during roadside emergencies, stating, “Over 30,000 Zomato delivery partners are now professionally trained to provide medical aid and help during critical roadside emergencies.”

Goyal expressed his admiration, stating, “Salute and a big thank you to these Emergency Heroes of India.”

The post, shared on June 13, received significant appreciation from social media users, with one individual commenting, “So cool! Congrats on the record-breaking event!” Another user praised the initiative, saying, “Even if they’re able to save 1 life, this will be a success. And we all know they are gonna save a lot many.”

Goyal, aged 41, holds an integrated master’s degree in technology in mathematics and computing from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi (2000-2005). Before founding Zomato in 2008, he worked for nearly four years as a Senior Associate Consultant for Bain and Company.
