In a disturbing incident captured on CCTV, a Zepto delivery agent allegedly assaulted a customer in Bengaluru’s Basaveshwaranagara area following an argument over a mismatched address. The incident took place on May 21, leaving the victim, Shashank, with serious injuries, including a facial fracture.
The accused has been identified as Vishnuvardhan, who was seen in the CCTV footage punching Shashank multiple times as his family tried to intervene. Initially, a woman can be seen collecting a parcel from the delivery boy. Moments later, Shashank appears and gets into an altercation with Vishnuvardhan, which quickly escalates into physical violence.
Victim Claims Fractures, May Require Surgery
Shashank tried to click a picture of the accused’s two-wheeler number plate, when another woman stepped in and took away his phone. This enraged the delivery boy, who launched a violent attack, landing seven punches on Shashank. His family members pleaded with the accused to stop, after which he finally let go

The victim later revealed that the blows resulted in a fracture near his lower eyelid and was later diagnosed with a skull fracture. “I might have to undergo surgery if it doesn’t heal in a week,” he added.
Zepto Issues Public Apology
Zepto took to Instagram to express regret over the incident, stating that they are “taking necessary actions and assisting the victim.” The platform has assured further cooperation with the authorities and the affected customer.
Police Action Underway
Meanwhile, the Basaveshwaranagara Police have registered a complaint and are currently searching for Vishnuvardhan. The authorities confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine the full circumstances of the altercation.
