In a shocking case from Haryana’s Hisar district, a woman and her lover allegedly strangled her husband after he caught them in an intimate situation. The accused, 32-year-old Raveena, had been creating social media content with Suresh, a man she met on Instagram, for over a year-and-a-half.
Despite objections from her husband Praveen and his family, Raveena continued posting short videos and dance reels with Suresh. Her Instagram account had garnered more than 34,000 followers, and her YouTube content also featured other artists. “She was obsessed with making videos,” revealed a source close to the family. Frequent quarrels erupted between the couple over her social media activities.
The situation escalated on March 25 when Praveen, 35, found Raveena and Suresh in an objectionable position, which led to a heated confrontation. According to the police, the couple then strangled Praveen with a dupatta. Raveena allegedly misled family members when they asked about Praveen’s whereabouts, pretending she had no idea.
Around 2:30 AM that night, the duo transported Praveen’s body on a bike and dumped it in a drain along Dinnod Road, nearly six kilometres from Raveena’s residence. His decomposed body was discovered by Sadar police on March 28.
The couple’s six-year-old son, Mukul, has now been placed under the care of his grandfather Subhash and uncle Sandeep.
An investigation is underway, and both Raveena and Suresh have been arrested.
