‘You Got Scammed’: Internet Slams Vlogger for ₹25,000 Louis Vuitton Chocolate Bag

Luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton, renowned for its trendsetting accessories, recently unveiled a unique edible piece—a chocolate replica of its signature Egg Bag. The sweet masterpiece, crafted by renowned pastry chef Maxime Frederic, reimagines Nicolas Ghesquière’s Spring/Summer 2019 design into a lifelike, luxury dessert.

Vlogger’s luxury dessert journey to Paris

Popular food vlogger Carmie Sellitto showcased the exclusive chocolate bag in a viral Instagram video, revealing that he travelled “all the way to Paris” just to purchase it. According to Sellitto, the item was unavailable at any of his local stores.

In the clip, he unboxes the dessert, marveling at the fine details of the zipper and texture, praising the craftsmanship before finally taking a bite. The chocolate handle crumbles onto the table as he exclaims that the chocolate is “creamy and beautiful” and rates it a “10/10.”

What makes the LV chocolate bag so expensive?

According to a report by Hypebeast, the Louis Vuitton chocolate bag weighs approximately one kilogram and carries a hefty price tag of €225 (approximately ₹25,500). It features 70% dark chocolate for the bag’s body and 40% milk chocolate for the strap, handles, and zipper. The iconic LV monogram is meticulously recreated, showcasing elite culinary craftsmanship.

Internet reacts: praise, mockery, and disbelief

The Instagram video quickly racked up over 2 million views, drawing a flood of comments. While some were impressed by the attention to detail and luxurious presentation, others weren’t so convinced.

One user called it “The craziest chocolate I’ve seen irl,” while another slammed it as the “Biggest waste of money on the planet.”

“Would actually get that because it looks delicious,” said a fan.

Meanwhile, criticism poured in from others: “You got scammed lol,” one wrote.

Another user stated, “Seriously, give the money to charity mate. That’s daft!”

“Not even worth 50 cents, what a joke,” a commenter added.

Luxury indulgence or overpriced treat?

The viral chocolate bag has sparked a broader conversation online—about the intersection of luxury, art, and food, and where we draw the line between indulgence and excess.
