If you thought filling up your tank was just another chore, a visit to Texas might change your mind. The town of Luling, located about 47 miles from Austin, is now home to the world’s largest petrol station—and it’s anything but ordinary.
Owned by Buc-ee’s, a popular American chain, this massive station spans over 75,000 square feet and boasts an incredible 120 fuel pumps lined in a row. But it’s not just about fuel—this station offers an experience that feels more like a day at the mall than a quick pit stop.
Recently, a social media influencer named Todd shared his visit to the Luling station, and his video has since gone viral. “There are 120 petrol pumps in a row,” he said in amazement. “Inside, there’s a massive store selling sweets, baked goods, merchandise, and the cleanest toilets I’ve ever seen.” Todd also highlighted the smoked meat section, where fresh brisket is prepared in full view.
Among the food items he tried was a three-meat bun, which surprised him with its flavor. “It looked simple, but the taste was really good,” he said, praising the sweet barbecue sauce and soft bread. He also sampled a tortilla-wrapped sausage with honey mustard dip priced at $4.99, calling it “impressive and not cheap-tasting.”
Todd didn’t stop there. He went on to try a pastry named Paddle Tail, a hybrid of cinnamon roll and croissant, priced at $3.79, which he described as “an amazing cinnamon-flavored delight.” However, not everything was a hit—the Korean barbecue jerky failed to impress.
What really wowed viewers was the back wall lined with soft drink dispensers, offering drinks for $4.99 and refills at $1.99. Todd also sang praises of Buc-ee’s famous beaver nuggets, claiming, “These will blow your mind.”
Buc-ee’s isn’t new to breaking records. Its Sevierville, Tennessee location previously held the title for the world’s largest petrol station at 74,707 square feet, and it also hosts the world’s longest car wash. But with the new Luling mega-station, the title has shifted back to Texas.
Online reactions poured in after Todd’s video surfaced. “This is the pride of Texas,” one user commented. Another said, “Welcome to Texas, friend.” One nostalgic viewer shared, “I saw these petrol pumps while travelling from Dallas to Houston a few weeks ago and was surprised to see so many pumps.”
With 50 Buc-ee’s stores across America, 35 of them in Texas alone, the brand has built a cult following for not just its scale but also for its consistently clean restrooms, extensive food options, and signature snacks.
Whether you’re a road tripper or just a curious foodie, Buc-ee’s in Luling might just be your next must-see pit stop.
