In a shocking case from Uttar Pradesh’s Kanshiram Colony, a domestic argument between a couple turned fatal after a man was allegedly pushed off a rooftop by his wife. The incident took place on Saturday night, April 12, and has since sparked serious questions about domestic abuse, police response, and long-standing family tensions.
The victim, 40-year-old Dilshad, was reportedly involved in a heated argument with his wife Shanno over food. Eyewitnesses, including family members, claim that the altercation escalated, and in a fit of rage, Shanno allegedly pushed Dilshad from the roof of their home. He was rushed to the Government Medical College (GMC), where doctors declared him brain dead on arrival.
According to a report, the couple had frequent arguments in the past. Dilshad’s family claims that the relationship was marred by constant fights, particularly over Shanno’s alleged excessive mobile phone use. They also allege that she had run away from home multiple times, creating repeated tension in the household.
Shanno, however, has denied the allegations. She insists that Dilshad was drunk at the time and jumped off the roof himself. “Our marriage was peaceful,” she stated, adding, “My mother-in-law is falsely accusing me.”
The case has also drawn attention to the local police’s slow response. Despite the house being near a police post, officials reportedly arrived much later than expected. Shanno has been taken into custody, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the exact sequence of events that led to Dilshad’s death.
Authorities are expected to rely on eyewitness accounts, forensic analysis, and mobile call records as the investigation progresses. The incident serves as yet another grim reminder of how unresolved domestic issues can spiral into deadly consequences.
