Ram Navami celebrations in Bihar took an unexpected turn on Sunday when a group of women in Darbhanga broke into a full-blown fight during a procession. What began as a religious gathering turned into a viral spectacle as women were seen pulling each other’s hair and engaging in a physical brawl—all allegedly over the issue of laying a mat.

The incident occurred near Naka No. 5 in Darbhanga, where a group had gathered on a rooftop to watch the Ram Navami procession. Eyewitnesses reported that the situation escalated when a disagreement arose regarding seating arrangements. What started as a verbal spat quickly turned physical, with women slapping and pulling each other’s hair as stunned onlookers watched.

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media. In the footage, the women can be seen aggressively fighting as the Ram Navami celebrations continued in the background. Ironically, a devotional song was played in an attempt to calm the tension while police arrived on the scene to restore order.

Authorities confirmed that the situation was brought under control. “The dispute over sitting on a mat escalated and a fight broke out,” one local official said.

Despite tight security arrangements across the state for Ram Navami, this bizarre incident has now become one of the most talked-about moments from the festival.
