In a horrific incident reminiscent of the infamous Saurabh murder case in Meerut, a woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria district allegedly murdered her husband, chopped his body in two, and tried to dispose of it using a trolley bag. The crime has sent shockwaves through the region.
The victim, 38-year-old Naushad Ahmed, had recently returned from Dubai—just ten days before his brutal murder. His body was discovered on the morning of Sunday, April 20, in a field about 55 kilometers from his home in Bhatauli village.
Body Found in Field by Farmer
The crime came to light when Jitendra Giri, a local farmer from Patkhauli village, noticed a suspicious trolley bag in an empty plot near his field. Giri, who had come to harvest his crop, immediately called the police helpline 112.

Senior officers, including Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Arvind Verma and CO City Sanjay Reddy, rushed to the scene along with forensic experts and a dog squad. Upon opening the bag, authorities found a male torso wrapped in plastic. The body was identified using a foreign SIM card, photocopied documents, and a travel barcode with an airport tag found along with the remains. Investigators later found another blood-stained suitcase at Naushad’s residence, suggesting an initial failed attempt to hide the corpse at home.
Wife Confesses to Murder with Lover
The investigation took a dramatic turn after police detained Raziya, Naushad’s wife, for questioning. During interrogation, she confessed to the crime and admitted to having an affair with her nephew by relation, who is now on the run. “She and her lover, her nephew by relation, killed Naushad as he was becoming an obstacle in their illicit relationship,” ASP Verma
Sources revealed that the extramarital affair had already created tension in the village. A panchayat meeting held a year ago addressed the matter, during which Raziya vowed to cut off contact with her lover. However, the relationship reportedly resumed while Naushad was away in Dubai.
Police Launch Manhunt
Police have launched a massive manhunt to trace the absconding lover, deploying multiple teams, including the district Special Operations Group (SOG). Forensic evidence and digital footprints are being analyzed to track his movements and involvement.
