A fresh twist has emerged in the murder case of 17-year-old Kunal, who was brutally stabbed to death in Seelampur, East Delhi, on Thursday night. The name of a woman identified as “Lady Don Zikra” has surfaced in the investigation, drawing fresh attention to the deep-rooted rivalries in the area.
Following the incident, the area has been placed under heavy police surveillance with paramilitary forces deployed to prevent further unrest.
Who Is Zikra and How Is She Involved?
According to sources familiar with the matter, the case revolves around old enmities involving Zikra’s brother Sahil. Sahil has a history of criminal behavior and had earlier assaulted a man named Saurabh, the brother of another local youth named Lala. The attack left Saurabh with a serious head injury after Sahil hit him with a rod.
In retaliation, Lala allegedly stabbed Sahil in a separate incident. At the time of the stabbing, Kunal was reportedly present with Lala. Sahil, seeking revenge, allegedly targeted Kunal repeatedly for information about Lala’s whereabouts. However, Kunal maintained that he had no contact with Lala.
On Thursday, Sahil allegedly confronted Kunal again and this time stabbed him multiple times, resulting in Kunal’s death. Locals say the feud escalated due to unresolved animosities, with Zikra’s name now linked through her familial connection.
Political Leaders React, Religious Tensions Rise
The murder has drawn sharp political reactions. Hindu leader Jai Bhagwan, who visited the crime scene, remarked, “The terror of Jihadis is not stopping. A few days ago, Muslim youths killed a Hindu in Gokalpuri. Now Jihadis have again killed a Hindu in Seelampur. Jihadis should be hanged.”
Other political figures, including BJP councilor Anil Gaur, AAP councilor Hazjan Shakeela Afzal, and BJP district president Poonam Chauhan, were also present on the scene. The case has stirred communal sentiments, adding another layer of complexity to an already volatile situation.
Police Investigation Underway
Greater police presence continues in the area as authorities dig deeper into the incident. Efforts are underway to locate and apprehend Lala, who remains wanted in connection with previous altercations. Meanwhile, Zikra’s role is under scrutiny as investigators attempt to piece together the full chain of events.
