Amid ongoing hostilities with India, a wave of concern has swept across Pakistan’s military circles, with retired officers openly admitting the country’s limitations. A clip from Dawn TV featuring a retired Pakistani army officer is going viral. In the video, the officer highlights the stark numerical imbalance between the two forces: “India has an Army of 16 lakh, ours is just six lakh. No amount of ‘ghazwa’ (battle) will save us.”

Masood Akhtar: “Situation Worsening, De-escalation Unlikely Without US Pressure”

Former Air Marshal Masood Akhtar echoed similar fears during the same broadcast. “Our leadership’s job is to look into the future. The scenes are worrisome. We have no answer to it. And the situation is worsening. De-escalation won’t happen till America puts pressure. On four instances, India had planned to launch massive attacks…We really have to think what we have to do else the situation will further worsen for us,” he warned.

India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ Wipes Out Terror Infrastructure

Pakistan’s aggression came after it accused India of killing civilians on May 7. However, JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar confirmed that 10 of his relatives and four close aides died in India’s precision missile strike. The Indian government responded with “Operation Sindoor,” which officials say eliminated over 100 hardened terrorists with ties to JeM, LeT, and Hizbul Mujahideen.

Political Unity in India as Opposition Backs Strike

Opposition leaders across India have expressed support for the armed forces. JD(U)’s Sanjay Jha stated that terror camps responsible for attacks since 2001 had finally been dismantled. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi also praised the Indian forces and urged the global community to act. “The Resistance Front should be classified as a terrorist organization by the UN Security Council,” he said, also calling on the U.S. to designate it a foreign terrorist group.

While the military success has bolstered morale in India, calls to maintain communal harmony have emerged across political lines.
