Watch: Tourist Bitten By King’s Guard Horse While Taking Photo

A tourist collapsed outside the Household Cavalry Museum in central London after a Royal Guard horse bit her hand. The King’s Guard — more commonly known as the Queen’s Guard — appears to fascinate tourists, being made up of the Grenadier Guards, Coldstream Guards, Scots Guards, Irish Guards, and Welsh Guards.

On Sunday, July 21, a grinning lady posed for a picture to be taken with a soldier and his horse outside the museum. In itself, there is nothing unusual about such photography, but the horses often fidget and react when tourists get too close.

The woman was wearing a large Pink Floyd T-shirt, sunglasses, and a baseball hat. She stood beside one of the Royal Guard horses, posing for pictures when she got too close and the horse turned around and bit her arm. Ironically, it happened right below the warning sign that said, “Beware. The Horses may kick or bite.” Another sign said, “Don’t touch the reins.”

The viral video shows the lady shouting out in pain and moving back away from the horse to see the wound. Then the camera caught the reactions of others in the crowd who were now more careful while posing near the horse. Later, the camera showed the lady lying on the floor due to the injury.

This is not the first time that this has happened. The horse reportedly had previous attempts at biting and kicking other tourists as well. In an older video, another tourist was reportedly bitten by a King’s Guard horse in Westminster, Central London, following her pose for a picture by touching the neck of the horse. In a jiffy, it turned and snapped at her, after which she stumbled back in shock but regained her balance. That incident also went viral online.
