There have been innumerable cases of thieves and pickpockets at the receiving end of violence, too. When a thief is caught red-handed, he is almost always severely thrashed, and on occasions, this has also resulted in the death of the accused. In one such amusing yet entirely different incident, an NCR crowd came up with a peculiar punishment for a suspected thief. He was indeed caught red-handed in the act of snatching a gold chain, but that’s not the half of it. The crowd first beat him up in the usual manner for committing the theft, before he was then made to dance on the roads to a Bhojpuri song. Yes, it did.
A number of men encircled him, the suspect of snatching chains. The suspected person is forced to dance amid those in the scene, which is quite funny. The same guys who are punishing the suspect are also joining him and dancing along with him.
The crowd captured the incident on film, including the dance moves of the thief, and posted it. Uploaded on X, the clip went viral with numerous reactions to this form of unusual ‘punishment’.
The post was captioned: “Thief got beaten by the crowd and forced to dance on Song, Somewhere in the NCR region.
With nearly 9 lakh views and still climbing, the viral video continues to capture the attention of social media users. Reactions poured in as people watched the clip. While some argued that the crowd should have handed the thief over to the police instead of taking matters into their own hands, the majority found the situation amusing and praised it as an effective way to teach a lesson.
One X user commented, “Not a single day without entertainment in our country.”
“This is harassment. If he has done wrong, call the police and arrest him,” one comment read.
