Fireworks Accident

The Dussehra celebration featured a 55-foot tall effigy of Ravana, which was the focal point of the event. As the effigy was set ablaze, fireworks were prominently displayed. Unfortunately, during this process, explosives fell into Yadav’s right eye, prompting immediate medical attention. Doctors are currently treating him for the injury.

A Call for Self-Reflection

Prior to this incident, Pappu Yadav had been vocal about the need for individuals to confront and eliminate the “Ravana” within themselves. He pointed out that many leaders who come to symbolically slay Ravana often exhibit similar negative traits and should work on ridding themselves of their vices. He stressed the importance of moral conduct, calling for the return of ideals represented by figures like Ram and Krishna, and suggested that about 90% of people should strive to improve their behavior. According to Yadav, if individuals can defeat their inner Ravana, it will lead to a healthier society.

Related Incident in Raipur

In a related incident during Dussehra celebrations in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, a worker sustained serious injuries after falling from a lighting structure while setting up the stage at the WRS ground. Other workers on-site quickly came to his aid and rushed him to the hospital for treatment.

These incidents highlight the inherent dangers associated with large public celebrations and the importance of safety measures to prevent accidents.
