In a bid for viral fame, a woman from Uttar Pradesh’s Auraiya district landed herself in legal hot water after uploading dangerous stunt videos on the Bundelkhand Expressway. The videos, originally posted to Instagram, showed her performing risky acts while on a moving car—dancing, sitting, and even lying across her husband’s lap as he drove at high speed.

The woman, now nicknamed ‘Reel Bhabhi’ on social media, quickly gained traction online—but also caught the attention of law enforcement.

RTO Cracks Down With ₹22,500 Fine

The Kanpur Nagar Regional Transport Office (RTO) launched an investigation after the reels went viral. Officials found her actions not only in violation of traffic laws but a direct threat to public safety. As a result, a fine of ₹22,500 was issued against her for performing stunts on a public expressway.

Authorities traced the car involved to Upendra Singh Chauhan from Baramaupur, Auraiya. For his involvement, the RTO imposed an additional ₹5,000 penalty for enabling the stunts. Another ₹5,000 was slapped specifically for the act of dancing on a car bonnet.

‘Expressways Are Not Film Sets,’ Say Officials

The incident has ignited a debate online, where reactions ranged from admiration for her boldness to concern over the dangerous precedent. However, transport authorities were clear in their stance. “Expressways are not film sets. What we witnessed in these videos was a complete disregard for traffic norms and public safety,” said a senior RTO officer.

Viral Fame Doesn’t Excuse Lawbreaking

The RTO stressed that the enforcement action is meant to serve as a public warning. Despite growing trends of users chasing views through reckless content, officials reiterated that social media popularity doesn’t place individuals above the law.

The episode highlights the fine line between digital fame and accountability, reminding content creators that the road to virality shouldn’t come at the cost of public safety.
