On April 22, passengers on the Delhi Metro’s Yellow Line got an impromptu show when a group of middle-aged men burst into song, accompanied by a handheld mic. What was otherwise normal travel soon turned into an impromptu karaoke session, pleasing some and puzzling others.
To add to that, the guys picked the evergreen 1955 love song from Shri 420, “Pyar Hua Ikrar Hua,” for their spontaneous concert, and many viewers have labeled it as both “hilarious” and “wholesome.”

The audience’s views soon split. “Awh, they are vibing with the most Indian dad faces,” one fan cheered. “Ironically, people were cursing some women who were performing kirtan in the Delhi metro. But now people are appreciating this,” another noted.
“This is a public nuisance, not wholesome,” one of the critics demanded, while someone else retorted, “Still better than the minor fights and abuses.
“Satire* Until a real Delhiite picks up the mic, croons honey singer’s classic song and drops the mic the moment his stop comes!” another joked. “The peach-coloured shirt uncle on phone (from right to person with mic) Looks like LATE OM PURI, I was surprised for few seconds,” one commenter said.
Even with the jovial atmosphere, not everyone was amused. Metro regulations prohibit onboard performances, but one user admitted, “Although performances such as these are not allowed in the metro I’ll give one slide this time lop.”
