A heinous crime has shaken the Azamnagar block of Katihar, Bihar, with the arrest of a man for allegedly raping and murdering his own step-sister. The horrifying incident came to light after the discovery of a minor girl’s body in a cornfield on March 6th.
Body Found in Cornfield After Late Return
According to police reports, authorities received information on March 6th about a minor girl’s body found in a cornfield within the Azamnagar police station area. The victim’s family had reported that she had been raped before being murdered. Their statement indicated that on March 5th, the young girl had gone to the cornfield with a sickle and a sack to cut grass. When she failed to return home by late evening, her family initiated a frantic search. Tragically, her body was discovered in the same cornfield the following morning.
Accused Apprehended Near Railway Station
Following information provided by the grieving family and local villagers, and after investigating several potential suspects, the police learned that an unidentified individual was hiding near the Barsoi railway station, seemingly planning to flee by train. Acting swiftly on this intelligence, the police conducted a raid in the area. Upon seeing the police, the accused attempted to escape but was successfully apprehended.
Shocking Confession During Interrogation
The arrest led to a shocking revelation. Police identified the accused as Ghulam Hussain alias Nayyar, the deceased girl’s stepbrother. During the subsequent interrogation, Hussain confessed to the gruesome crime. “During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime and said that he had raped the girl who had come to cut grass in the corn field on March 6. After this, he killed the girl,” stated the police.
The arrest and confession have sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the vulnerability of individuals and the urgent need for stringent action against such heinous crimes. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
