In a decisive military operation, the United States launched a series of airstrikes targeting Houthi rebel positions in Yemen. The attacks, authorized by former President Donald Trump, were carried out in response to recent Houthi aggression against international shipping routes in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. Initial reports indicate that at least 24 individuals were killed in the strikes.

Retaliation for Houthi Attacks on Global Trade

The airstrikes come amid growing concerns over Houthi militants disrupting maritime trade. The U.S. military targeted key rebel strongholds in Sanaa and Saada, reducing parts of the rebel-occupied regions to rubble. Video footage from the scene shows thick smoke billowing from the attack sites.

According to military officials, these strikes were also intended as a show of support for Palestine amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

Trump’s Warning of Further Action

Taking to Truth Social, Trump justified the airstrikes and issued a stern warning to the Houthis. He declared that if the rebels continued their assaults, they would face “a level of hell they have never seen before.”

The U.S. government had previously expressed grave concerns over the growing Houthi threat, particularly regarding their attacks on American and allied vessels.

Civilian Casualties and Rising Tensions

Local sources claim that among the 24 killed, 13 were civilians in Sanaa and 11 in Saada, including women and children. The destruction has heightened panic in Yemen, further escalating tensions in the war-ravaged country.

U.S. Issues Direct Warning to Iran

Following the military operation, the United States sent a strong message to Iran, which has been accused of supplying weapons and financial support to the Houthis. Trump warned that any continued backing of the rebels would lead to “severe consequences.” He reiterated that the U.S. would hold Iran fully accountable for its involvement in the conflict.
