A Swiss watchmaker, in partnership with an Indian retailer, has unveiled a limited edition Ram Janambhoomi watch priced at an eye-watering Rs 34 lakh ($41,000). This timepiece celebrates the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony that took place earlier this year in Ayodhya, India.
Created through a collaboration between Ethos and Jacob & Co, the watch is part of the Epic X Skeleton series by Jacob & Co.
“The watch is designed to serve as a homage to the profound cultural heritage of India and will be one of the most unique collaborative timepieces ever made,” the company stated.
The watch features the Ram Temple at 9 o’clock and “Jai Shree Ram” at 6 o’clock. Both editions showcase Lord Rama and Lord Hanuman and come with a saffron bracelet.
“The colour chosen for the watch is deeply symbolic, representing spirituality, purity, and the essence of prayer, which are central to the values it embodies in Hindutva. Every detail is designed to resonate with cultural and spiritual significance,” the company explained.
Only 49 of these limited edition watches have been produced, with 35 already sold.
