In a deeply disturbing incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, an 8-year-old boy named Anas was brutally attacked by a stray rabid dog while playing outside his home in Ruhasa village, under Daurala Police Station limits. The horrifying attack, captured on CCTV, has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage and fear across the region.
The footage shows the dog lunging at the unsuspecting child, biting and scratching him viciously. In a graphic image that surfaced online, the dog is seen having chewed off the boy’s upper lip, leaving him critically injured. Anas was immediately rushed to a hospital in Delhi, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Villagers, shaken by the gruesome sight, acted swiftly. They managed to catch the rabid animal and killed it on the spot to prevent further danger. The incident has left the community in shock, with residents now demanding urgent government intervention.
“We fear for our children’s safety. The authorities must act before another tragedy strikes,” a villager said, echoing a growing sentiment in the area.
This isn’t an isolated case. Just recently, a woman in Greater Noida West suffered spinal injuries after falling from a 20-foot height when a pet dog attacked her in a high-rise society. The growing number of such attacks has amplified calls for stricter control over stray and aggressive dogs in urban and rural areas alike.
