A deeply disturbing video has emerged from a private rehabilitation centre near Bengaluru, showing a patient being brutally assaulted by staff members. The incident took place within the Nelamangala Rural Police jurisdiction, roughly 30 kilometres from the city.
In the CCTV footage that has gone viral, a man undergoing treatment is seen being cornered in a room and mercilessly beaten with sticks. As the video continues, he is dragged repeatedly while another individual joins in the assault. Shockingly, others present in the room watch on without intervening.

While the video surfaced recently, police confirmed that the incident occurred earlier. Authorities acted swiftly after the visuals gained attention, arresting all individuals involved in the violence.
Adding to the shock, photos linked to the same facility show some of the same individuals involved in the beating celebrating a birthday—cutting a cake with a dagger.
The police have taken the matter seriously and registered a suo moto case. Relevant charges, including sections under the Arms Act, have been invoked.
This shocking incident has prompted strong outrage from citizens and activists, with many calling for stricter monitoring of such centres and justice for the victim.
