A chilling 11-second video has surfaced on social media, allegedly showing a terrorist firing at tourists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baisaran valley during the recent Pahalgam attack. Though shot from a distance and lacking clarity, the footage appears to capture a gunman aiming at a crowd, as screams echo in the background. News18 noted that the video has not been independently verified.
The attack, which occurred on April 22, claimed the lives of 26 people. Eyewitnesses say the victims were tourists enjoying pony rides and picnics amid the lush meadows when chaos erupted.
FIR Reveals a Planned 30-Minute Assault
According to the FIR filed by the Jammu and Kashmir police, the attack was meticulously planned and executed over a span of 30 minutes. Armed men dressed in military uniforms emerged from the pine forests encircling Baisaran and began shooting indiscriminately.

“The attackers indiscriminately opened fire on tourists who were visiting the Pahalgam area for sightseeing and leisure, with the intent to kill and spread fear and panic. As a result of the firing, a number of tourists have been injured, and several lost their lives on the spot,” the FIR reads.
The report also confirmed that the attackers used illegal automatic weapons. The local police station received the alert at 2:30 pm, nearly 40 minutes after the gunmen began their assault at 1:50 pm.
Access Delays Hampered Response
Due to the remote and non-motorable nature of the area, it took security forces significant time to reach the location. By the time help arrived, many had already succumbed to their injuries.
Authorities continue to investigate the origins of the video and the identities of the attackers. The shocking visuals have only intensified calls for stricter security and accountability in tourist-heavy regions.
