Old Video of Trudeau Mocking Trump Adds to Tariff Tensions | WATCH

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau returned home on Saturday following a meeting with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, but without any assurances regarding the threatened tariffs on Canadian goods. Trump has proposed imposing a 25% tax on all imports from Canada and Mexico, a move that Canada deems unjust and unrelated to its trade practices.

Old Video Resurfaces

Amid the tense discussions on tariffs, an old video of Trudeau, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and French President Emmanuel Macron at Buckingham Palace has gone viral. The video captures Trudeau humorously recounting an incident involving Trump’s extended press conference.

In the video, Johnson asks Macron why he was late. Trudeau responds, “He was late because he talked a 40-minute press conference off the top.” As the leaders laugh, Trudeau adds, “You just watched his team’s jaws drop to the floor.” While Trump wasn’t named, the context suggests the comment referred to his lengthy briefing.

Take a look at the viral clip:

Trudeau-Trump Meeting Highlights

Trudeau’s visit to Florida marked the first by a G-7 leader following Trump’s election victory. The two leaders had a hastily arranged dinner at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club, where Trudeau described their discussions as “an excellent conversation.”

Trump, however, showed no sign of retreating from his tariff threats. He later shared on Truth Social that the talks were “productive,” adding that they covered “many important topics that will require both countries to work together to address.”

While Trudeau sought to ease trade tensions, Trump’s position on the proposed tariffs remained unchanged, leaving uncertainty about Canada’s trade relations with its southern neighbor.
