A disturbing video capturing a man physically assaulting a woman inside a Mumbai local train has gone viral, triggering widespread outrage across social media platforms. The 29-second clip shows a verbal altercation between the two passengers quickly spiraling into violence.
The man, visibly agitated, is seen standing up during the argument, accusing the woman of insulting his mother before launching a violent assault on her. He strikes the woman repeatedly, only stopping when another passenger intervenes and pulls him away. The incident, which reportedly took place on May 16 between Kanjurmarg and Kalyan stations, left passengers inside the coach alarmed and shocked.

Police Launch Investigation
As per an NDTV report, the incident started when the man boarded a coach reserved for specially-abled passengers. The woman reportedly objected to his presence, leading to the heated exchange. Authorities have since registered a case and are working to trace the accused.
A joint investigation is underway by the Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF). Efforts to identify and apprehend the man responsible are currently ongoing.
The footage has drawn sharp reactions from citizens online, with many calling for swift action against the perpetrator. The video, which surfaced on social media platform X, continues to circulate, amplifying public demand for improved safety measures for women in public transport.
