‘Metro_Chicks’ Instagram Account: Women Secretly Recorded And Shot In Metro

An Instagram account named “Bangalore Metro Clicks” (@metro_chicks) has triggered widespread anger online for uploading videos of women on Bengaluru’s Namma Metro without their consent. The account, followed by over 5,600 users, has posted at least 13 videos showing women being secretly recorded on trains, often accompanied by captions like “finding beautiful girls on Namma Metro.”

The account also runs a Telegram channel with 1,188 subscribers, where similar content has been shared. All comment sections on these videos have been disabled, possibly to avoid public backlash.

The issue came into the spotlight when a user on X flagged the account and urged Bengaluru Police to act against the “pervert.” The alert quickly gained momentum, with other users tagging influencers, authorities, and citizen groups to demand swift action.

User That Nair Guy (@surajv369) tweeted, “Very creepy and dangerous for all women traveller’s,” and urged more users to amplify the call for punishment.

Voices of support poured in from several others, including Adarsh Kharvi (@Adarshkharvi1) and Abhay Chaturvedi (@AbhayLearner), who tagged Bengaluru Police and wrote, “This bastard should immediately be put behind bars.” Many also expressed disbelief at the large number of followers supporting such voyeuristic content.

BMRCL Responds, Vows Legal Action

Reacting to the online outrage, BL Yashavanth Chavan, Chief Public Relations Officer of the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), confirmed that the agency is taking the matter seriously. He told Moneycontrol, “We will not tolerate anything that compromises the safety of our passengers.”

Chavan added that BMRCL is aware of the Instagram account and will immediately file a police complaint. A cyber complaint is also being prepared to ensure the account and its associated content are taken down swiftly.

As the outrage spreads and pressure builds online, legal action is expected to begin soon. Authorities have not yet revealed the identity of the individual behind the account, but a cybercrime probe is likely to be launched.
