In a strong retaliatory response to Pakistan’s continued drone and missile incursions, the Indian Armed Forces struck eight Pakistani military targets during the night of May 9 and 10. The action followed increased aerial threats from across the border, including drone sightings at 26 locations along the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC). Targets included military bases in Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Chunian, as well as a radar site in Pasrur and an aviation base in Sialkot. “India ensured minimum collateral damage and losses,” said Wing Commander Vyomika Singh during a joint MEA and MoD press briefing.
Drone Theft Adds Humour to Hostilities
Amid the aftermath of the strikes, a bizarre incident in Lahore’s DHA Phase 6 grabbed social media attention. A Pakistani youth reportedly stole a part of an Indian drone that had crashed during the operation. A viral video shows a man claiming the youth fled with the drone piece on his motorbike while his pillion rider was caught. The stolen part was placed on the bike’s fuel tank, adding a surreal twist to an already tense geopolitical situation.

Internet Trolls and Pakistani Military Embarrassment
The incident sparked widespread trolling online. “Bechkar atta chawal layega aaj,” one user joked, suggesting the youth might sell the drone part to buy food. Another sarcastically praised Pakistan’s air defence system. One viral comment said, “125 he is referring to is Honda CG 125… imagine the depravity to steal a drone on this bike.” In another video, several youths were seen carrying drone parts, accompanied by a Pakistani soldier, further embarrassing the military.

Tensions between India and Pakistan have been escalating since the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which killed 26 Indian tourists. India’s Operation Sindoor and successive precision strikes are part of its continued effort to dismantle terror infrastructure across the border.
