Man Breaks Vande Bharat Train Window With Hammer, Video Goes Viral

A video of a man repeatedly hitting the window pane of a stationary Vande Bharat train has gone viral on social media, igniting a heated debate. Some users on X argued that the man should face punishment, while others claimed he was attempting to repair the window. This incident has garnered attention amidst a series of train sabotage cases reported across India.

The video, widely shared on social media, includes an X post where an individual captioned the video in Tamil. Upon translation, it reads, “Vande Bharat train smashing by a mystery man. Anyone know where this happened and what happened?” In the footage, the man is seen standing in front of the train’s window, hitting the glass with a hammer until cracks appear.

This viral video has sparked controversy and prompted various reactions, having already collected over 1.5 lakh views and 1,200 likes. Users have weighed in with different perspectives in the comments.

What are X users saying about this?

One user clarified, “Dear sir, Please confirm the news before posting. It is one of the processes of changing the cracked window glass. He is trying to break the cracked glass to remove it.” Another user echoed the sentiment, adding, “Train is in the Coach Care Centre, not at the platform. He is smashing the glass because they need to replace it. He’s just the worker for the contractor assigned to replace the glass window.”

However, not everyone is convinced that the man was breaking the window for repair purposes. One commenter argued, “He must be booked and jailed for 10-15 years for destroying the public property.” Another added, “He should be arrested ASAP.”

Recent train sabotage incidents:

In a recent event, an LPG cylinder was placed between Shivrajpur and Bilhaur in Kanpur, causing the Bhiwani-Prayagraj Kalindi Express, carrying thousands of passengers, to stop after hitting it. Fortunately, a major tragedy was avoided due to a loco pilot’s timely alert. Authorities also found “a bottle of petrol, matchboxes, and a suspicious bag containing a gunpowder-like substance” in the area, indicating a potential sabotage attempt.

Just hours earlier, two cement blocks were discovered on the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor tracks, believed to have been placed to derail a goods train loaded with cargo.
