Lucknow Woman Alleges Waiter Locked Cafe’s Door After Her Entry

A woman recounted a frightening experience at a cafe in Lucknow on Reddit, alleging that a waiter locked the doors after she and her friend entered. They had an unsettling feeling about the place and managed to escape when the situation felt increasingly ominous.

The woman described how she and her friend visited SRS City Mall in Lucknow and, unable to find coffee inside the mall, decided to try a nearby cafe. She noted that the cafe seemed “shady” and gave off “really weird vibes.” She wrote, “The guy who greeted us gave us a pretty creepy smile. We peeked in through the door and it was so dark, absolutely no bright lights. Just those dim aesthetic lights which serve no purpose whatsoever. And the place reeked of hukka. (I’m asthmatic and was scared for my life atp).”

As they took a few steps inside, the waiter reportedly bolted the door behind them. She recalled, “Gosh we were so scared. I immediately turned back, opened the door and both of us just ran outside. We kept hitting the lift call button but that stupid lift was stuck again. The waiter said, ‘Madam kahan jaa rhi hain aaiye baithiye toh kya dikkat hui?’ (Ma’am where are you going? Tell me the issue).”

Social Media Reactions:

Her post has garnered nearly 100 upvotes and continues to attract attention. Many Reddit users commented on the post, agreeing that the place seemed “shady.” One user noted, “Usually in cafes where they serve hookah, they bolt the doors to prevent inspections, possibly due to lacking a proper license. These types of places can be really dangerous.” Another added, “Been there with my mates once for sheesha and we left after 10 minutes due to similar concerns.”

Others shared similar sentiments, with one commenting, “People are opening cafes all over Lucknow, and many are shady. Be cautious and stick to places you know are trustworthy.” Another user advised, “Always trust your instincts in these situations. If you want coffee near SRS again, try Cafe de Leila, just 800 meters away.”

Another user mentioned, “Near SRS you will find shady spas too.”
