Kamala Harris’s Dance With TikTok Star Kenneth Walden: WATCH ‘Boots On The Ground’

Former Vice President Kamala Harris is once again in the spotlight, but this time not just for her politics—she’s trending for her moves on the dance floor too. A video of Harris learning the viral “Boots on the Ground” line dance backstage at the Emerge America 20th anniversary gala in San Francisco has set social media abuzz, with reactions ranging from “fun” to “cringe.”

In the clip, Harris, dressed in a sharp navy suit, asks content creator Kenneth Walden (@2rawtooreal), “Will you teach me?” before attempting the dance steps alongside him. Walden later asked her how she maintains her sense of “Black joy” in the face of public scrutiny. Harris responded, “I have a husband who is here right now, and an incredible circle of friends who are family, and family. I think it’s just important to be with those people who love you and care about you, and get you.”

The viral moment came just before Harris delivered her first major speech since losing the 2024 election. Speaking to a crowd of Democratic supporters, she offered sharp criticism of President Donald Trump’s early actions after returning to office. “Some people are describing what’s been happening in recent months as absolute chaos,” Harris said. “Tariffs that, as I predicted, are clearly inviting a recession. Things are probably going to get worse before they get better.”

Harris accused the Trump administration of having “abandoned America’s highest ideals” and added, “The White House belongs to the people.”

Her remarks didn’t go unnoticed by the current administration. White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller responded by saying Harris’s speech reminded Americans how “blessed” they are that Trump, not Harris, is president. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt added, “We encourage Kamala Harris to continue going out and doing speaking engagements.”

As Harris balances cultural visibility with pointed political commentary, the viral dance video and fiery speech mark a notable reentry onto the national stage.
