Jonathan Bailey To Reprise Role As Anthony In ‘Bridgerton’ Season 4

Fans of Netflix’s hit period drama ‘Bridgerton’ have exciting news: Jonathan Bailey is set to return for Season 4. Bailey will reprise his role as Anthony Bridgerton, the dashing Viscount and eldest Bridgerton sibling, as reported by Deadline.

In a recent interview covered by Deadline, Bailey, who is also garnering attention for his Emmy-nominated performance in Showtime’s ‘Fellow Travelers’, shared his enthusiasm for returning to ‘Bridgerton’. “I have a couple of weeks etched out in my schedule for returning,” he said, adding, “I look forward to reading the scripts.”

Season 4 is expected to continue delivering the beloved drama and romance. While Anthony’s screen time will be reduced compared to earlier seasons, his character remains crucial. Unlike the first season’s Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon (Rege-Jean Page), who did not return together in later seasons, Bailey’s Anthony and his wife Kate (Simone Ashley) were featured in Season 3, concluding with their babymoon to Kate’s native India.

Bailey, who has consistently shown his dedication to the series, noted, “The thing about Bridgerton, which is so brilliant, is that there’s so many different ways you can fall in love as humans and that’s what this show will explore.” He added, “Obviously being the older brother, I’m going to be there to support the youngsters as we go.”

With the series shifting its focus to Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) in the upcoming season, the plot will explore Benedict’s hesitation to settle down until he meets the captivating Lady in Silver, Sophie Beckett, played by Yerin Ha. Bailey praised Thompson’s portrayal, saying, “Benedict’s full of wonder and joy. He’s the beating heart of the family,” and added, “Luke Thompson is going to be stunning.”

The new season will dive into Benedict’s story while continuing to weave together the Bridgerton family’s narratives, with Penelope’s secret identity as Lady Whistledown likely remaining a key element.
