Jaipur Men Arrested For ‘Serving Beer On Sacred Ekadashi Day’ For Reel Stunt | VIDEO

In a shocking display of social media-driven stunt culture, Jaipur police arrested seven individuals, including a local influencer, for distributing alcohol publicly on June 6, a day that coincided with the auspicious Hindu observance of Ekadashi. The incident has triggered a wave of outrage both online and offline.

Influencer Turns Street into ‘Beer Party’

A viral video captured social media influencer Lappu Sachin handing out bottles of beer to people on a busy Jaipur road, effectively turning the moment into a public drinking event. The stunt not only disrupted public order but was also considered a deep affront to religious sentiments, given the spiritual importance of Ekadashi, when Hindus traditionally fast and refrain from indulgence.

Several onlookers appeared visibly uncomfortable in the footage, while others participated and accepted the alcohol. The act, carried out in broad daylight, was widely criticised as a reckless bid for online clout.

Police Action and Public Reaction

Social media users promptly flagged the video, tagging Jaipur Police’s official handle and demanding action. Police soon identified those involved and arrested seven men.

Rajasthan BJP spokesperson Laxmikant Bharadwaj shared a video of the arrested individuals on X (formerly Twitter), captioning it: “They were acting smart, distributing beer on the streets for a reel. Jaipur Police taught them a lesson.”

The clip showed the accused being paraded by police, apologising and holding their ears in a gesture of remorse.

Legal Trouble Ahead for the Accused

According to legal experts cited in reports, the group may face multiple charges under Indian law. Distributing alcohol in a public space is a violation of excise and public order regulations, and the act may attract charges under:

  • Section 295A of the Indian Penal Code (hurting religious sentiments)

  • Section 268/290 (public nuisance)

Authorities confirmed that further investigation is underway.
