Christine Connell, a travel influencer, says her ex-boyfriend’s “disgusting” fart triggered a sinus nightmare that lasted seven years. According to her viral TikTok confession, the bizarre episode began right after her ankle surgery. While they were in a hotel room, her then-boyfriend reportedly “accidentally” broke wind directly in her face while changing.
“I Couldn’t Breathe,” She Says
“I couldn’t breathe… it was the worst fart I have ever smelled in my life,” Christine recalled. After the incident, she suffered for years with chronic sinus pain, green mucus, and constant congestion.

Multiple visits to ENT specialists yielded no answers until one day, a test revealed the presence of E. coli bacteria in her sinuses.
Was It the Surgery or the Fart?
“You don’t usually get E. coli in your sinuses… unless your face is in the path of a disgusting fart,” she noted in the video. While she concedes the bacteria could have come from her recent surgery, she still suspects the fart as the culprit.
“He got the best break-up revenge,” she joked. “I was immobile and had no choice but to inhale it.” Christine summed it up as “definitely rare, but unforgettable.”
