Prince Harry shared a touching moment about his son, Archie, during an interview with Canadian television channel CTV while in Vancouver for the 2025 Invictus Games. When Archie asked about landmines, it made us have a most unexpected yet meaningful discussion about his deceased grandmother, Diana, Princess of Wales.

“Archie wanted to know about landmines; indeed, it allowed me to think of my mum and dad, hers, which I had not even thought of before. So that became the outcome of the story for him,” Prince Harry revealed. As the discussion went on, Archie requested to look at pictures and videos of Diana’s humanitarian activities, including landmine clearance advocacy.

Harry with Charity Trust

The HALO Trust is a charity with which Princess Diana was an avid promoter of finding landmines explosives-free in former conflict zones. Following in her footsteps, Prince Harry became the charity’s Patron in 2013. In 2017, marking International Mine Awareness Day, he committed to working to destroy landmines globally by 2025.

In 2019, Prince Harry walked in Diana’s footsteps in Angola, stopping at a recreation of the minefield she had famously walked in 1997. Protective gear at hand, he pointed to the change from its former hazardous character toward a successful community. Reflecting on the visit, he shared, “It has been quite emotional retracing my mother’s steps…to see the transformation that has taken place, from an unsafe and desolate place into a vibrant community.

Harry Remarks

Harry also revealed that he and Meghan Markle keep photos of Princess Diana on display in their Montecito residence so that both Archie and their young daughter, Princess Lilibet, are reminded of her. He previously told journalist Hoda Kotb that while he doesn’t share “all the stuff that’s happened” in his family with Archie, he makes sure his children know who Diana was.

This heart-melting exchange between father and son has sent chills down many royalists’ backs as it attests to Harry’s constant duty toward fulfilling the memory service of his mother.
