Has The Cartoon Network Site Been Shut Down?

Cartoon Network’s official website now redirects users to the Max streaming platform, where they can access both classic and new animated content. This transition has triggered waves of nostalgia on social media, with users reminiscing about the days when they played games and watched shows directly on the Cartoon Network site.

Redirection Not Addressed

Neither Warner Bros. Discovery nor Cartoon Network has yet addressed this redirection, but a notice titled ‘Stream Cartoon Network on Max’ has been shared on social media, informing fans about the change.

The notice states, “Looking for episodes of your favorite Cartoon Network shows? Check out what’s available to stream on Max (subscription required). Sign up for Max, where you can also create a Kids Profile with ratings restrictions and additional privacy protections to keep it fun and kid-friendly! Cable subscribers, continue to enjoy your favorite CN programming on your TV and connected apps as well!”

What Is ‘Max’?

Max, previously known as HBO Max, is a US-based subscription video-on-demand streaming service that operates under Warner Bros. Discovery Global Streaming & Interactive Entertainment. It provides a wide range of content, including original programming, movies, and TV shows from Warner Bros. Discovery’s extensive library.

Despite the website’s redirection, Cartoon Network has not shut down. However, the change has sparked a wave of nostalgia on social media. “My childhood has officially died. And I’m not joking😭,” one user commented on X, formerly known as Twitter. Another added, “RIP GOAT, THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES 🙏🏾,” sharing posters of popular games from the site.

Recently, the hashtag #RIPCartoonNetwork trended on social media, causing confusion about the channel’s status. These concerns were largely fueled by discussions about industry-wide challenges, such as job losses and corporate cost-cutting. Cartoon Network has clarified that it is still operational and continues to focus on producing new content.
