In a deeply disturbing incident, over two dozen monkeys were found dead under mysterious circumstances near Govind Kund in Mathura’s Govardhan area on Monday, May 5. The gruesome discovery has sparked outrage among locals and devotees, especially since the monkeys are considered sacred in the region.

A viral video circulating on social media shows the lifeless bodies of the monkeys scattered across the road while police officers inspect the scene. Locals claim that a foreign national, who had been residing at the nearby Janki Das Ashram, used an air gun to shoot the monkeys in cold blood.

As soon as the villagers noticed the dead monkeys, they informed the police. Law enforcement quickly arrived at the spot and sent the carcasses for postmortem examination. Initial investigations revealed that the monkeys had injuries caused by air gun pellets, confirming that they were shot intentionally.
