Food Vlogger’s ‘Worst Flight’ With Air India Express: Calls Co-Passenger ‘Educated Fool’

A recent Instagram Reel posted by food vlogger dct_eat has garnered significant attention, highlighting what he describes as his “worst flight experience” with Air India Express. The video, shared on August 24, has since amassed over 1 million views and more than 17,000 likes, sparking widespread discussion online.

A Rocky Start: Check-In Woes

The vlogger’s troubles began at the Mumbai airport during the check-in process for his flight to Delhi. He described a stressful experience due to a payment issue, which set the tone for what would be a frustrating journey. Despite resolving the check-in problem, things quickly worsened once he boarded the flight.

Safety Protocols Ignored

According to the vlogger, his co-passenger blatantly ignored safety protocols by staying on his phone during takeoff. Despite politely asking the co-passenger to switch off the phone, he was met with resistance and a heated argument ensued. Frustrated, the vlogger referred to the co-passenger as an “educated fool” and decided to move seats to avoid further confrontation.

Disappointing In-Flight Meal

Unfortunately, the vlogger’s experience didn’t improve after changing seats. He was served an in-flight meal that only added to his dissatisfaction. The meal consisted of an omelette, hara bhara kebab, mutton biryani, and a banana choco cake, but the vlogger found the food far from appetizing.

“I was served a disappointing meal—an omelette that was far from appetizing and a dry hara bhara kebab that I couldn’t even finish,” he shared in the video. He did note, however, that the crew offered him green tea, which was a small consolation.

Lost Luggage Adds to Frustration

Upon landing, the vlogger’s frustration reached a peak when his luggage was misplaced, causing an additional 30-minute delay to his already stressful journey. This final inconvenience seemed to solidify his negative impression of the airline.

Backlash and Support Online

While the video received considerable attention, it also sparked backlash from some viewers. Critics accused the vlogger of focusing too much on the negative aspects of his flight and recording the co-passenger without consent, despite not revealing the individual’s face.

One user commented, “Start an airline and fly in that solo,” while another shared their own negative experience with Air India Express, saying, “Indian aviation standards are going down and down.”

Despite the mixed reactions, the video has continued to trend, fueling ongoing discussions about the quality of service on budget airlines.
