A daring social media stunt in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, took a disastrous turn when a woman and her relative attempted to film a viral reel by deliberately releasing LPG gas in their apartment. The incident occurred around 2:15 a.m. at The Legacy Plaza building on Bhind Road, where Ranjana Jat, along with her 38-year-old relative Anil Jat, was recording a video in their first-floor flat. According to eyewitnesses, Ranjana intentionally tampered with an LPG cylinder using a pin to release gas into the air.
Explosion Causes Extensive Damage and Severe Injuries
The risky experiment, which lasted nearly 17 minutes, ended in catastrophe when Anil switched on a CFL light to improve the video’s visibility, inadvertently igniting the leaking gas. The explosion devastated Ranjana’s one-bedroom flat and caused significant structural damage to at least eight other flats in the seven-story building. Both Ranjana and Anil sustained severe burn injuries as emergency services rushed to the scene to provide urgent medical aid.
