Drunk UP Man Calls Cops On Diwali Eve To Report ‘Theft’ Of 250 Grams Of Potatoes | Watch

On the eve of Diwali in Hardoi district, Uttar Pradesh, police were taken aback by an unusual emergency call. Upon their arrival, they encountered Vijay Verma, a local resident, who appeared quite distressed. It soon became apparent that Vijay, having consumed alcohol, had reported the theft of approximately 250 grams of peeled potatoes from his home.

Watch the video here:

During the police’s inquiry, Vijay firmly asserted that the missing potatoes justified an investigation. He explained that after enjoying some drinks, he intended to cook the potatoes, only to find them gone upon returning home.

The bizarre nature of the situation prompted the police to start recording the encounter, which quickly went viral on social media.

In his defense, Verma spoke to the officers about his drinking habits, stating, “We work hard and drink alcohol for a few days in the evening, but the question is not about alcohol. It’s about the potatoes. Find them.”

As the video circulated online, social media users found the incident highly amusing, leading to widespread laughter.
