Dog Reunites With Owner After 6 Days Of Wayanad Landslides: Viral Video

Amidst the devastation caused by recent landslides in Wayanad, Kerala, a touching video of a dog reuniting with its owner has provided a glimmer of hope and warmth. The video, shared on X by @retheeshraj on August 4, captures the emotional moment when the dog, separated for six days, is joyfully reunited with its owner. The footage, which has since gone viral with over 562,000 views, shows the dog’s affectionate response, licking and nuzzling its owner as rescue officials and bystanders look on.

The caption accompanying the video reads, “Emotional Reunion!! After 6 Days Of Searching For His Owner.” Social media users have been moved by the heartwarming scene. One viewer commented, “Animals are more loyal, loving & caring than today’s self-centric, materialistic humans.” Another praised the video, saying, “This is so incredibly heartwarming. Thanks for sharing this.” A third user reflected on their own experiences, stating, “I have also experienced this moment, it was emotional, never leave your pet because you are everything for them.”

In a separate but equally poignant story, a wild elephant emerged as a hero amid the Wayanad disaster. A woman recounted how the elephant played a crucial role in saving her and her family from the ravages of the landslides. “The water was like the sea. Trees were floating by. When I looked outside, my neighbour’s two-story house was collapsing. It fell and destroyed our house. I heard my granddaughter, Mridula, crying as I managed to get out. I grabbed hold of her little finger, pulled her out of the rubble eventually, covered her with a cloth, and began swimming through the flooding water,” she shared with reporters.

The tragic landslides have claimed 219 lives, with 206 individuals still missing, highlighting the scale of the disaster and the ongoing recovery efforts in the region.
