Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has joined the cast of ‘Border 2’, the sequel to the 1997 hit film ‘Border’. On Instagram, Diljit shared a video featuring his voiceover discussing patriotism and the duty to protect the nation. He captioned the post, “Pehli Goli Dushman Chalaega aur Akhri Goli Hum (The first bullet will be fired by the enemies and the last by us)! Honoured to stand with such a powerful team and walk in the footsteps of our Soldiers! #Border2.” Sunny Deol also welcomed Diljit on Instagram, writing, “Welcoming Fauji @diljitdosanjh to the Battalion of #Border2.”
Fans responded enthusiastically to the announcement, with Bobby Deol posting clapping emojis and many others expressing excitement. Comments included, “Border 2 is getting more exciting day by day!” and “Blockbuster movie, Avengers vibes.” Some fans even praised Sunny Deol as a “legendary action superstar in Indian cinema history,” with others simply expressing, “Just goosebumps” and “Avengers vibe.”

Varun Dhawan had previously joined the cast of ‘Border 2’. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film continues the story of the 1997 original, which was directed by JP Dutta. Sunny Deol, along with Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, is producing the sequel. The film is set to start shooting in October and is slated for release on January 23, 2026. The original ‘Border’, released in 1997, depicted the India-Pakistan War of 1971 and starred Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, and Akshaye Khanna in leading roles.
