Rats were spotted nibbling and leaping around the sweets displayed for sale in a Delhi shop, according to media reports. A news story and video shared by Navbharat Times captured the alarming incident inside Aggarwal Sweets, located in the Bhajanpura area of Delhi, specifically at Khajoori Chowk.
In the video, rats can be seen feasting on sweetmeats within the glass display cases. Despite the usual hustle and bustle of customers making purchases, the rats roam freely among the trays without any apparent fear. As the footage continues, a man, likely a staff member, is seen near the display case, but he does not take any action regarding the presence of the rats contaminating the shop’s products.
The camera shifts to the left, revealing other customers who seem oblivious to the rat activity occurring nearby.
The video has been circulating online, eliciting various reactions.
“It must be a pet rat,” remarked one user on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), seemingly in a sarcastic tone.
“What else do you expect inside a sweets shop, elephants?” joked another.
A different user on X questioned the absence of ‘law and order’ in Delhi.
It is worth noting that the name, location of the shop, or the specific date of the video is not clearly identified when viewed independently.
