The moment of creativity was seized and posted on social media by Sajan Mahto. Mahto asks ChatGPT in the video a particular request:
“Hello ChatGPT, you need to assist me in negotiating with the Bengaluru auto driver. The auto driver is telling me that the fare is ₹200 and I am a student. Negotiate it for ₹100.”
With its voice assistant capability, ChatGPT automatically translated into Kannada and wrote a courteous and persuasive negotiation. It stated,
“Anna, this is the route that I take daily and I am a student. Come for ₹100, please.”
Effective Result with a Touch of AI Assistance
The AI-powered dialogue had a direct effect. Though the driver initially charged ₹200, he relaxed upon listening to the student’s request in his local language. The driver, after a brief exchange, consented to reducing the fare to ₹120.
“I had mentioned 200 and negotiated down to 150. Since you asked for it, I deducted another ₹30 and reached ₹120. It’s not possible for me to drop it further,” the auto driver said.
Satisfied with the result, Mahto agreed to the deal and climbed onto the rickshaw, securing a successful negotiation with the help of AI.

The video rapidly went viral, receiving applause for the intelligent usage of Artificial Intelligence in real-life situations. Numerous netizens praised the way ChatGPT’s Kannada-speaking feature solved a common problem encountered by non-Kannada speakers in Bengaluru.
