A horrific car accident involving a Toyota Fortuner SUV left the people on the road as witnesses in shock on Tuesday, raising serious concerns about high-speed driving on public thoroughfares.
Despite the big damage, the driver, the lone occupant, miraculously survived with injuries described as not life-threatening. It was a grim reminder of the dangers of excessive speed.
The accident happened when the dark-colored Fortuner was reportedly running at an extremely high speed of more than 160 kmph. According to initial reports, the driver suddenly lost control of the large vehicle.
It was going so fast that all the above factors combined to produce an instant, disastrous set of events; the SUV left the road surface and started flipping violently, rotating multiple times in the air and across the roadside.

The terrifying airborne spin ended with the heavy vehicle landing upside down; the final, shocking point of impact was a motorcycle legally parked on the side of the road, which was instantly crushed beneath the Fortuner's chassis. The sound of the crash brought local residents and other motorists running to the scene.
Emergency services quickly arrived to find the huge SUV upside down, severely damaged with crumpled body panels and a caved-in roof, with the driver inside.
The driver was trapped but conscious. Rescue workers extricated the injured driver from the vehicle, and he was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Initial medical reports confirmed that the driver has suffered multiple injuries but is now in a stable and safe condition, a matter that authorities are referring to as the true miracle considering all circumstances.
A Cautionary Tale While an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the driver losing control, the reported speed of over 160 kmph will be front and center.
