Bokaro’s Hairstylist Transforms Hair Into Celebrity Portraits Goes Viral

A hairstylist from Bokaro, Jharkhand, is making headlines for his extraordinary ability to create intricate images of famous personalities in his clients’ hair. Mahendra Pramanik, who resides in Sector 4, has gained widespread attention for his artistic flair, capturing the likenesses of renowned figures such as Virat Kohli, Mahatma Gandhi, and Bhagat Singh.

An Artist at Heart

Mahendra’s unique talent has drawn large crowds, especially during election seasons. His exceptional skill with scissors has helped him carve out a distinct identity in Bokaro. In a conversation with Local18, he shared that he is a professional hair and makeup stylist with over 12 years of experience. Throughout his career, Mahendra has had the privilege of working as an assistant stylist for notable Bollywood figures, including Raza Murad, Shatrughan Sinha, and Shraddha Kapoor. He currently operates out of a well-known salon in Bokaro.

Journey from Humble Beginnings

Mahendra’s passion for art dates back to his childhood, where he found joy in pencil sketches and painting. However, family responsibilities initially pulled him into the family business. To refine his artistic skills, he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Pracheen Kala Kendra in Chandigarh, followed by a PhD in Hair and Makeup from the prestigious Jawed Habib and Beauty Academy in Delhi.

Reflecting on his journey, Mahendra mentioned the challenges he faced growing up in a humble household. His father, Ramkishan, would travel their village offering haircut services, while his mother, Prema Devi, was a homemaker. Financial difficulties posed significant hurdles for him as he sought education in larger cities.

Community Support and Future Aspirations

With the encouragement of his village community, support from BCCL manager JK Singh, and local MP Dhullu Mahato, Mahendra managed to complete his education in Delhi. Now, he aims to establish an academy to provide training in hair and makeup skills, with the goal of creating employment opportunities for talented youth in Jharkhand.

As Mahendra Pramanik continues to gain recognition for his unique artistry, he hopes to inspire others in his community to pursue their passions and achieve their dreams
