Nikhil Kamath, the 37-year-old co-founder of Zerodha, recently attracted attention when he was seen riding a motorcycle with rumored girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty in Mumbai. However, it has since come to light that the bike Kamath was riding, a Suzuki Intruder VZR 1800 ZL2, had expired insurance.
In viral videos from two days ago, Kamath was seen cruising through Bandra on the motorcycle, dressed in a jacket and shorts, and wearing a helmet and face mask. Chakraborty was riding as a passenger. Observant social media users quickly noted the bike’s license number and discovered that the insurance had expired in July 2023. The bike, which Kamath first registered in Bengaluru in April 2012, was reported to be his personal vehicle, not a rental.
The Suzuki Intruder VZR 1800 ZL2, also known as the Suzuki Intruder M1800R in some markets, is a powerful cruiser bike that was priced between ₹15.95 lakh and ₹16.45 lakh in India when new, with on-road costs reaching up to ₹18 lakh.
Kamath, who became India’s youngest billionaire after co-founding Zerodha in 2010 with his brother Nithin Kamath, is also involved in asset management through his company True Beacon, which he co-founded in 2020. Besides his business ventures, he hosts a popular podcast.
