Bengaluru Woman’s Midnight Saree Purchase For Onam Via Swiggy Instamart Creates Online Stir

Onam festivities, which ran from September 6 to September 15, were celebrated with great enthusiasm across India. Among those preparing for the festival, X user Neerja Shah faced a last-minute rush to get her Onam outfit. She ordered a saree through Swiggy Instamart late at night, which caught the attention of social media users.

Shah shared her experience with the grocery delivery service, writing, “Ordered a saree on @SwiggyInstamart at 12 am for last-minute Onam plans. I love Bangalore istg.” Her post, shared on September 15, has garnered over 34,000 views, nearly 400 likes, and numerous comments. Swiggy Cares responded with, “Send us some Onam Sadhya too!”

Reactions from others included one user who said, “I ordered a pressure cooker before leaving for my flight to be carried to New York for a friend.” Another commenter, Sumedha Uppal, added, “Just want to close the loop on this and say that the saree slapped. you had to be there to witness it.” Heer Shingala inquired, “Did it come with fall & edging done?”

Onam is celebrated annually with much zeal, marking the return of the mythical King Mahabali and also signifying the start of the new year for those in Kerala.
