A video of a beggar in Bengaluru speaking about Albert Einstein‘s Theory of Relativity to a passerby has gone viral over social media.Sharath Yuvaraj caught it on camera, and the video quickly spread across the social network where many commented on his tragic storyas both awe-inspiring and sympathetic.
Sharath Yuvaraj, who recorded the conversation, was initially taken aback by the man’s deep understanding of such a complex subject. His casual knowledge about high-level physics seemed out of place, given his situation. “In 1904, Einstein wrote this book ‘Theory of Relativity’…” the beggar is heard saying in the clip, before diving into an explanation of Einstein’s theories.
The video took a heart-wrenching turn when it was revealed that the man begging on the streets was not always in this position. According to Sharath, the beggar was once a product engineer at Mindtree in Global Village, Bengaluru. He was well-educated, having completed his Master’s degree in Frankfurt, Germany. However, the tragic loss of his long-term girlfriend and his parents led to a downward spiral, eventually leading him to the streets.
The man, struggling to cope with the pain of his losses, turned to alcohol as a means of escape. His transformation from an educated professional to a beggar is a stark reminder of the emotional toll that personal tragedies can have on a person’s mental health. His story has sparked an outpouring of sympathy online, with many netizens calling for more emotional support and compassion for individuals like him.
The video, which was posted on Instagram on November 13, has gone viral, drawing thousands of views and comments. People are not only amazed by the beggar’s knowledge but are also deeply moved by his tragic backstory. Netizens have expressed concern for the man’s mental well-being and have called for emotional support to help him heal. One commenter wrote, “He needs love, he needs emotional support… he is broken from within.”
While the beggar’s story has garnered significant attention, it also highlights the importance of providing mental health support and compassion for those who are suffering, regardless of their circumstances. As his story continues to circulate, it serves as a poignant reminder that every person, no matter their situation, deserves understanding and care.
