Before Rakul Preet’s Brother, These Bollywood Celebs Were Arrested In Drug-Related Cases

Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh’s brother has been arrested in a drug case. Police have confiscated a substantial amount of narcotics and arrested multiple individuals, including prominent personalities. Aman Singh, who is Rakul Preet’s brother, was among those detained. The operation led to the seizure of 200 grams of cocaine, estimated to be worth approximately Rs. 2 crore.

However, this is not the first time that a high-profile personality has been a part of a drug-related case. Here is a list of Bollywood celebs who were arrested for their involvement in drug-abuse cases prior to Aman Singh.

Rhea Chakraborty

The tragic death of Sushant Singh Rajput in June 2020 led to a significant investigation by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), during which several Bollywood celebrities were summoned for questioning. It was alleged that these individuals had either been using drugs with the late actor or supplying them to him. Sushant’s girlfriend at the time, Rhea Chakraborty, faced allegations of providing drugs to him. She was arrested on September 8, 2020, and subsequently released on October 7, 2020. Other prominent figures, including Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, and Shraddha Kapoor, were also interrogated by the NCB in connection with the case.

Aryan Khan

Son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was embroiled in a major drug scandal that shook the entire film industry. On October 2, 2021, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) conducted a raid on the Cordelia cruise ship following a tip-off about a rave party. Aryan, then 24 years old, was arrested by the NCB during this raid. He faced allegations of being involved in international drug trafficking and possessing illegal substances linked to global drug cartels. After spending a month in custody, he was granted bail. In May 2022, his name was cleared when the NCB’s charge sheet did not include his name, citing insufficient evidence.

Fardeen Khan

An actor making his comeback to Bollywood after a hiatus of 12 years, faced legal trouble in 2001 when he was arrested in Mumbai for allegedly attempting to purchase cocaine. The charges against him persisted for 11 years until 2012 when he received immunity after completing a de-addiction program at KEM Hospital. Fardeen’s immunity was contingent upon his compliance with treatment and avoiding any future drug-related issues.

Sanjay Dutt

A veteran Bollywood actor, has been at the center of numerous controversies throughout his career. One of the most impactful was his arrest in 1982 for drug possession. Sanjay has been candid about his long battle with substance abuse, acknowledging his addiction to various drugs including heroin, cocaine, and pills. He revealed undergoing rehabilitation in the United States to overcome his addiction, although his struggle with substance abuse persisted for several years before achieving sobriety.

Siddhant Kapoor

Son of actor Shakti Kapoor, faced legal trouble when he was detained by Bengaluru police in a drug-related incident. Siddhant was among six individuals arrested after testing positive for drugs in a blood test following a raid on a rave party on June 12, 2022.
