Of the numerous options available, the gold-leaf-gilded paan was the uncontested show-stopper. Its over-the-top ingredients and presentation make the gold paan stand out with its combination of Raffaelo chocolate, gulkand, fennel seeds, coconut shavings, dry dates, cloves, sweet chutney, and cherries – all elegantly contained within edible gold. The specialty costs Rs. 600.
Legacy of Yamu’s Panchayat
Born in the 1950s at Connaught Place, Yamu’s Panchayat has won the name of being “India’s First Paan Parlour.” Besides the gold-leaf paan, there were also other innovative paan options available like Five Star Paan, Strawberry Paan, White Chocolate Gundi Paan, Fire Paan, and KitKat Paan offered at the stall, making the same a gastronomical special point at the wedding.
Classic Fare and Dance Performance
The guests were also treated to a variety of traditional dishes such as curries, breads, and rice. There was also a musical performance by Bollywood singer Mika, complementing the entertainment. Another highlight of the evening was when Kejriwal and his wife Sunita got onto the dance floor. Their happy dance performance to the song Angaaron Sa from Pushpa 2 became a viral hit on social media.
