80-Year-Old Man Dragged, Slapped By Doctor Over Queue Violation at MP Hospital | WATCH

An 80-year-old man, Uddhav Singh Joshi, has leveled allegations of physical assault against a doctor at Chhatarpur District Hospital in Madhya Pradesh. According to Joshi, he had gone to the government hospital with his wife for treatment and was waiting in the queue when the incident took place.

According to Joshi, a doctor identified as Dr. Rajesh Mishra accused them of not following the queue rules. “He first misbehaved with us and then began to drag me, slap me and even kick me,” Joshi alleged, further stating that his wife was also assaulted during the altercation.

Response from Authorities

A clip of the attack, allegedly filmed on April 17, has since emerged online. It seems to depict a man pulling an old man out of the hospital, before slapping and kicking him.

Reacting to the charges, Civil Surgeon Dr. GL Ahirwar agreed that “there was a dispute between the doctor and the patient,” but refuted reports of physical abuse. “The victim’s allegations are untrue that he was kicked and doctor misbehaved with him,” he stated. But Dr. Ahirwar further stated that the doctor has been cautioned against such in the future, and that the patient should be given priority in line.

Political Backlash on Hospital Staff’s Behavior

The incident has also raised a political storm. Congress spokesperson Abhinav Barolia condemned the ruling party, stating, “Chhatarpur incident clearly shows that Mohan Govt has entirely failed in giving better health services and this govt has turned into a JUNGALRAAJ.”

In the meantime, BJP leader Ajay Yadav promised that the administration has been instructed to act accordingly. “The Dist administration has been instructed to take action against whoever is guilty in it. As BJP government in MP is committed to the privileged service of Poor and aged patients on priority,” he said.

The official X (previously Twitter) account of the MP Congress also shared the video clip, labeling it as an indication of the “mismanagement” during the tenure of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
