In another incident reflecting the growing obsession with social media reels, two women were caught on camera dancing in the middle of a busy road at Giaspura Chowk in Ludhiana, Punjab. The video, which quickly went viral, showed the duo grooving under a bridge as traffic moved around them.
The reel, reportedly shot on April 17, was posted by the Instagram page ‘1000 Things in Ludhiana’, sparking widespread reactions from the public. The women, dressed in contrasting black western and pink desi outfits, appeared completely unbothered by the stream of vehicles — including cars, bikes, and even a truck — as they showcased hip-shaking moves beside an autorickshaw.
Traffic chaos and civic concern
According to a report by True Scoop, a North India-based digital channel, bystanders soon gathered around the performers, some filming the dance while others alerted local authorities. The act, though attention-grabbing, raised serious concerns about road safety and civic responsibility.

ACP Traffic Gurpreet Singh responded to the viral video, reminding citizens that such actions are punishable. “Making reels in the middle of the road is a violation of traffic rules,” Singh said. “We are verifying the video and attempting to identify the girls involved. A thorough investigation will follow,” he added.
Internet divided over ‘Reel Culture’
The video attracted mixed reactions online. Some expressed outrage, calling the act irresponsible and dangerous.
“What is this ???? They don’t have civic sense,” one user commented.
“Real ke chakkar mein maat mare dete hain logo ne,” wrote another, criticizing the reckless trend.
Authorities have urged people to prioritize safety over social media fame, warning that endangering lives for viral moments won’t be tolerated.
